SUMMARY:Go Ruck Level 1 Basic Pistol
DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol is a new offering in the GORUCK Tactical series\, this is a course for brand new shooters who want to learn basic firearms safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Our Cadre will begin by teaching all the basics of safely operating a semi-automatic pistol; parts of the weapon\, rendering safe and clear\, function checking\, disassembly – stance\, grip\, sight picture\, sight alignment\, trigger squeeze – and physically demonstrate each course of fire prior to each drill. All of the firing drills are designed to make you accurate from both gun in hand and drawing from a holster. You will fire at various distances\, positions\, clear stoppages and practice magazine changes. You will learn basic strategies that will better equip you to react to use of force situations. \nParticipants who complete this course with Cadre Machine will be eligible for a non-resident concealed weapons permit. These permits are valid for a term of 7 years in 36 states. \nDue to the space and safety requirements needed to conduct these events\, the ranges may be up to a two hour drive from the city listed. Please keep this in mind when making lodging arrangements. \nThe duration of this course runs 8-10 hours. \nAll GORUCK Firearms Courses and Events utilize scenario based training which is incorporated into dry practice prior to any live fire. All participants will practice target identification and discrimination\, movement\, weapons manipulation\, and other dynamic drills with the cadre and others. These drills will be facilitated with inert weapons enabling a safe and realistic training environment. Both pistols and rifles will be rendered inert with barrel/chamber blocking plugs. Further\, each student must fully participate in dry practice prior to commencing live fire. \nEVENT QUALIFICATION STANDARDS FOR PATCHING\n\nTarget: Tactical Law Enforcement Target (anatomical side).\nFundamental evaluation to be completed on the 10-yard line for pistol and 20-yard line for rifle: min score 6 out of 9 hits on paper target.\nLoad 1 magaze with 7 rounds and 1 shell casing (which will cause a malfunction). Draw and fire the 7 rounds\, clear the malfunction\, change magazines\, discharge the final round. Must hit 6 out 9 rounds on target. SUMMARY:Talon Defender Advanced 350
DESCRIPTION:This course represents the second in a three part series. 250\, 350 and 450. The Advanced(350) course will build on the foundations set before it by the Enhanced(250). The Talon Defender series will be entirely shot and taught from concealment and is geared towards the responsibly armed civilian. \nThe course will cover the following topics: \n-Refresher on handgun malfunctions \n-Refresher on handgun transitions \n-Intro to trauma care \n-Intro to low light engagements \n-Extensive work on movement around people\, obstacles and barriers \n-As always\, legal and mindset discussions throughout the class. \nAll students will need a current certification from the Enhanced(250) course\, a concealed carry weapon with at least three magazines or three speed loaders. We recommend that you bring more. A concealable method of carry\, Pocket flashlight and 1000 rounds of ammo. Course is designed to consume 800 rounds.
