DESCRIPTION:USPSA stands for United States Practical Shooting Association. It is a member of IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation). There are more than 30\,000 active members and over 400 active clubs across the country. USPSA focuses on Accuracy\, Power\, and Speed (“Diligentia\, Vis\, Celeritas” or DVC). We test those skills by presenting targets at different distances\, arrangements\, and requiring movement to complete a course of fire. The focus of USPSA competition has always been to push the envelope of shooting techniques and technologies. \nUSPSA currently recognizes eight divisions that encompasses virtually any pistol\, and there is even a division for pistol caliber carbines (PCC). Competitors are divided into division by the firearm and other related equipment they use\, so that everyone can compete on an even field. We further divide competitors into classifications\, designed to approximate skill or experience level\, to help you better understand your own performance.

DESCRIPTION:This course represents the second in a three part series. 250\, 350 and 450. The Advanced(350) course will build on the foundations set before it by the Enhanced(250). The Talon Defender series will be entirely shot and taught from concealment and is geared towards the responsibly armed civilian. \nThe course will cover the following topics: \n-Refresher on handgun malfunctions \n-Refresher on handgun transitions \n-Intro to trauma care \n-Intro to low light engagements \n-Extensive work on movement around people\, obstacles and barriers \n-As always\, legal and mindset discussions throughout the class. \nAll students will need a current certification from the Enhanced(250) course\, a concealed carry weapon with at least three magazines or three speed loaders. We recommend that you bring more. A concealable method of carry\, Pocket flashlight and 1000 rounds of ammo. Course is designed to consume 800 rounds.

During this course\, students will learn how to fight effectively with a handgun from inside and around vehicles. We will cover the effects of bullets striking a vehicle\, effects of bullets against tempered and laminated glass\, the strong areas of a vehicle along with the weak areas of a vehicle. We will also cover the special considerations of vehicle interiors\, specific draw techniques\, and other specific items. Each student will engage targets from inside a vehicle while shooting through a windshield. This will be an eight hour course and lunch will be provided. \nGear List: \n\n185 rnds of FMJ\n15 rnds of JHP\nEye and Ear Protection\nHandgun\nThree Magazines\nConcealed Carry Holster\nSpare Mag Pouches\nGloves\nFacial Covering (there will be a lot of powdered glass in the air)\nNote Taking Gear\n\nThis class will require a proficient level of gun handling in confined spaces. Understand that if you sign up for the course and then demonstrate a significant safety risk to not only to yourself but instructors and other students\, you will be dropped from the course. \n
